My ceremonial cacao recipe - it's magic

Ceremonial cacao recipe

A step-by-step guide on how to make a ceremonial cacao drink. This is my favourite ceremonial cacao recipe including a list of ingredients and two different methods of preparing ceremonial cacao to drink. Enjoy!

You will need:

∞ 30 grams of Ceremonial Cacao (this is a recommended ceremonial dose for one person) I recommend Ubud Raw Ceremonial Cacao

∞ Pinch of Celtic Sea Salt

∞ Half a teaspoon of cinnamon

∞ Coconut Cream (I love the Macro brand from Countdown because it’s organic and the whole can is solid and creamy, you want to be using real coconut cream, not the runny stuff)

∞ Clean filtered drinking water ⁣⁣(boiled or cold, or both, depending on which method you use)

Other ingredients you may like to add or try:

∞ A sweetener, I recommend coconut sugar

∞ Medicinal mushrooms e.g. Lion’s Mane, Reishi or Cordyceps

∞ A drop or two of high quality essential oils, I alternate between peppermint and orange

∞ Collagen, I add a heaped teaspoon of Dose & Co’s Unflavoured Marine Collagen to mine

Ceremonial cacao drink recipe

Method:

Preparing for a sacred ceremony, pot and stove top

  1. Into your pot, add a cup of filtered water, a heaped tablespoon of coconut cream and begin to heat gently on a low to medium heat, you do not want your pot to be boiling at any time during preparation

  2. Once coconut cream has melted add the rest of your ingredients, ceremonial cacao, pinch of salt, cinnamon and any other ingredient that feel good for you, stir and heat slowly

  3. Continue heating and stirring until all is combined, and heated well through, you may like to use a whisk to add some air into the cacao or whizz it up with a stick blender once you have it off the stove to create a more creamy consistency

  4. Pour into mug and enjoy

  5. Please refer to my blog post on how to have a cacao ceremony at home, for more information on how to prepare the ceremonial cacao when you are choosing to experience it within ceremony

Preparing for a morning ceremony or a morning dose of heart-opening magic

  1. Place all ingredients in a Nutri bullet and whizz it on up, if using this method, please add in half a cup of cold/chilled water, keep reading for why

The cold water is essential if you use a Nutribullet to blend it up in. There have been cases of Nutri bullets exploding when putting hot water in them, so please take care. Safety tips to avoid that happening. using the cold water which brings the temperature down a fraction. Only leave it mixing up for 10 secs to avoid pressure build-up. Don't do the base up really tight, just tight enough that it's sealed. Or you can use a stick blender, a whisk or anything else that might do the trick. However, for me, the Nutribullet is what helps it's creamy, frothy consistency and mixes it all up really well. ⁣⁣
